Selain mobil low cost green car, masyarakat Indonesia kini disajikan beragam model mobil perkotaan. Dari sisi harga, city car umumnya dibanderol lebih mahal daripada LCGC yang saat ini tersedia dalam pilihan model hatchback maupun MPV.
Menurut Direktur Marketing PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, Amelia Tjandra, meski hampir serupa, pihaknya tidak khawatir city car akan tergerus oleh LCGC, mengingat secara dimensi dan harga tidak berbeda jauh.
“Bukan kekhawatiran, masing-masing segmen mobil ini ada pasarnya. Jadi di kami ini city car karena harganya di luar LCGC ada yang beli tetapi memang enggak besar,” kata Amel di Jakarta beberapa waktu lalu.
Saat ini, kata Amel, penggemar mobil mungil untuk perkotaan di Indonesia masih tetap ada. Apalagi dengan adanya produk-produk baru yang dihadirkan para agen pemegang merek, maka konsumen memiliki pilihan yang beragam.
